The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

he takes a fork and gingerly pokes into the steak. it seems rather well prepared. the asparagus still had wafting steam. he figures that there's probably supposed to be a second person, judging from the silverware, but he doesn't feel like waiting. iker digs into his dinner.

he gives as much as the man asks for, and no more. the potatoes are a little saltier than he's used to, but iker finds them plenty platable nevertheless.
he's vaguely disappointed when greyson starts eating. he had been eyeing the miso soup himself.

not that he would know, but at least they're having a civil dinner and not slaughtering each other like...half the other vday participants.

it's weirdly lonely for a dinner too. come to think of it, it's a little odd that his partner didn't show up in this dream. jax never did leave his side, and now it's almost as if he's missing a limb. a limb that he's always had, at least.
