The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

karimi never actually frequented the bacchus theatre as a child. for one, the town is situated on the other side of the lake, so it wasn't as if she could simply meander in when she was bored. for another, she figured that if she could fall asleep in front of the old historical dramas on television, then she probably didn't stand a chance here. those seats didn't look comfortable for napping either.
the scourge have certainly made the place a lot more exciting. too exciting for karimi's tastes. she supposes that she's probably never really going to get along with bacchus gym.
she didn't need to like the place to want to kick the scourge out of it, though.
her arcanine spits out a dead bellsprout that he had just mangled. karimi is thankful that she no longer has to tell him not to eat that.
...it's a pity that the bellsprout is too mangled for entries, however.
minerva was apparently incredibly fond of bacchus gym. she dug through the long abandoned chests and drawers in the dressing rooms, adorning herself in a multitude of floofy scarves and strings of plastic gems. she tried to put on a pair of long silk gloves, but her claws shredded them. oops, oh well. she tossed the tattered cloth onto the floor and resumed strutting around the hallways, arranging her multitude of scarves for maximum dramatic effect and accentuation.
as she fussed with a bracelet of fake rubies, she turned a corner, straight into a vaccinated arcanine and its trainer. she struck a pose, tiara glistening on her head.

she has the same reaction that toska is having. which is:

then karimi regains her usual senses, which tell her that this isn't what a scourge pokemon should be doing. a scourge pokemon should be digging among human flesh, and not a bundle of scarves.
...not a mindless eating machine, then. that rules the lucario out of class c in karimi's mental hierarchy of scourge pokemon. closer to class b, the intelligent hunter. 'intelligent' implying that the pokemon wanted something other than food, at least.
it speaks to her.
"what the hell."
she brings out her old partner and figures that she should probably put an end to this fashion disaster of a pokemon. karimi squints at the lucario. there's something familiar about her voice.

what the fucking hell. fusion bolt? from a lucario? that shouldn't be possible on a raichu, much less a lucario-
karimi starts to piece it together. she watches the lucario closely, and she's not nearly as wrecked by a fusion flare as she ought to be. especially under this scorching sun. it's not a surefire sign, but it's her voice that confirms it.

she can feel her stomach lurch like she's on a rollercoaster ride. and it's one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
