there wasn't much to do in proserpina, in addi's eyes. she had tried to be a girl and go to the stores, but was utterly defeated when realizing that she didn't care. she wandered into the warehouse, seeing the wide open space.
"hello?" it echoed. addi was delighted.
she sat down on a box, kicking her feet. rondo jumped onto the box and settled into her lap as she began to sing.

her voice carried through the warehouse, almost as well as a cathedral. her eyes closed and sighed happily, carrying on into the song. rondo's eyes drooped, adjusting himself and making him more comfortable before relaxing.
she was going back and forth these days, but with the psychic sign it was easy enough to do. getting it had been a headache and a half, though - but ahuda pushed those thoughts away for now.
it'd been a long time since she'd been to the warehouse, although the way there she didn't have a trouble with. madonna was trotting by her side as was ares, although the charmeleon was having an easier time in the bitter cold. the axew assist in her arms was shivering, and it sighed in relief when they entered the warehouse.
the singing was unexpected, even as the singer continued. ahuda would have been happy to leave the singer alone, if not for something that scurried on top of the boxes and leapt down.

...well then. ahuda chose a different route around the durants, ending up next to the singer and her growlithe. "hey there," she said, her own pokemon beside her, and nodded down the aisle of crates. "there's durant coming our way. you interested in a scuffle?"
her duties as a ranger only extended to pokemon protection. it didn't mean she couldn't play exterminator and at least help clear out the warehouse from bug pokemon that could hurt people.

"...shit," is all ahuda manages to get out before the durant are flooding down on them, and she reaches for her styler with long-practised ease. ares and the axew pokeassist are going to take point on this one, so madonna stays back with her ranger and the strange girl.
"ranger?" ahuda asks right as the pokemon come at them.

addi saw the pincers glowing and screamed. she grabbed rondo and ran out of the warehouse, while screaming "YES I'M A RANGER." in passing. when she was safe, she let rondo down and directed him to the giant hoarde. "AHHHHH." she screamed, all while staring at ahuda.

durant hoarde is smart and parts like a wave to dodge the heatwave. ...about 50 of the hoard are caught in the flame burst, dragon rage, and ember while the rest scurry off and dodge. they faint. 250 durant used protect
"that's a good idea," ahuda shouts to the girl, who has got to be a newbie if she's screaming in battle, and she sighs and draws psychic - teleport first to the woman's side, then up onto a higher stack of crates. her pokemon will be fine, but the growlithe will have to find his own way up.
"calm down," ahuda says while she looks down onto the durant, who have regathered. "stop screaming, and think. we need to break this hoarde up."

addi struggled to take a deep breath. however, when she saw the pokemon attacking, she paused. she had pokemon before, and had battled before. not against this many, of course, mostly it was with little poochyena in hespera streets.
"no, you don't need to attack while they're protecting." rondo didn't attack, simply trotting around, trying to find a clear open spot for when he could attack next. he leaped up onto a crate.

"they were trying to test the limits of protect, i think," ahuda says as she peers down to her pokemon. they're looking around, tense, and ares and axew join madonna on top of the crates while the durant disappear into the ground. "i've seen swarms of durant, but they were mostly in ceres. how so many gathered in the warehouse, i have no idea."
charmeleon, axew, and mienfoo are all on top of crates. axew says to the growlithe, < get up here! get off the ground! >

the growlithe scampered up higher, claws scratching at the wood to climb. "good. now wait. ember when you see them, as well as roar."

ahuda sighs and plops down onto the crate the two of them are on, which is quite high up, she finally notices. like, ten feet up. but at least it kept them safe, right?
she eyes the fainted bodies of bug pokemon, noting the burn marks on crates and the still-wet floor from her water sign. ares is giving her a thumbs-up, while madonna is helping axew off the wet ground and up onto her crate.
