This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Follow the birdie, follow the birdie. Ambrose smirked: didn't they know it was useless? Another flash of light, and another Ally Switch, left Ambrose peppered by rocks and his fine feathered(?) friend unharmed. The rocks were starting to sting, true, but his hard shell could handle these barrages for days! Not even the Thunder Wave would slow him down now: with the wind at his back, he'd be on a rampage now.
Of course, as he started to tauntingly spread his arms in a "come at me" pose, he was suddenly struck by a ball of concentrated darkness. Shadowy winds raked his back as he tried to stagger to his feet, wondering how he went from feeling just fine to being in bad pain. Seemed like his usual gambits would only work once.
He hastily begun beating a retreat, spewing Bubbles from his claws into the darkness. Maybe he'd end up stumbling on a new thread.

Sigilyph looked a little guilty at her injured companion, but was kind of relieved: a barrage like that he could weather, but it would have torn her apart. However, what was better thanks than sweet, sweet vengeance? She turned her sights to the Nosepass, glowing bright blue before launching an arcing Psywave at it. She also tried to give it a taste of its own medicine, her eye spinning in circles to try and knock him out with Hypnosis. Finally, she flapped her wings once more, aiming a Gust in the direction the Ominous Winds were coming from.
Dan followed the Sigilyph's lead, tracing his Styler in a constant spiral. Her small yet vicious wind would be bolstered by a much larger, stronger Aeroblast aimed into the darkness.

9(18) SCOURGE NOSEPASS - STURDY tackle, harden, block, rock throw, thunder wave, rock blast, magnet rise, magic coat, role play, stealth rock
Wind, gales and gusts alike come billowing its way. The spirits that compose of its body swirl around menacingly and howl while spiritomb shrieks - a loud, piercing cry.
The nosepass shows no emotion - it can't, rather. Seconds tick by, tauntingly slow, then it tips its head back and falls onto the cold ground of the clearing, snoring quietly.
1/5 magnet rise 2/2 charm nosepass dodges bullet seed nosepass is hit by absorb, psywave, hypnosis nosepass fell asleep! E2LXQsGS < 50 wake up
spiritomb dodges sweet kiss spiritomb is hit by aeroblast x3, gust spiritomb uses confuse ray on grovyle spiritomb uses ominous wind on sigilyph spiritomb uses hypnosis on chansey
Ambrose pointed and laughed at the fallen Nosepass, aiming another spray of Bubbles at its fallen form. With nothing better to do, he sat down and began Leering into the shadows.
Sigilyph closed her eye once more. The omens and portents she witnessed had all come true: a slumbering rock, a shriekng spirit. The time of the future was now! Her eye snapped open, practically boring into the Nosepass' soul as her Future Sight targeted him.
She gracefully spun out of the way of the Ominous Wind, eye glowing a strange purple color. A ghastly glow shined out from her Miracle Eye aiming to illuminate the figure attacking them from the dark. Her aim was more sure than ever before, as she returned fire with another swirling Gust.
Dan, on the other hand, had other plans. A flaming cloak seemed to wrap around him as he traced out a bright V with his styler, focused especially on his dominant hand. He charged forward in the direction where his Sigilyph aimed, letting out a fearsome war cry. He lunged forward in a vicious hybrid between a punch and a tackle, unleashing the power of a V-Create.

<95, V-Create hits.

9(18) SCOURGE NOSEPASS - STURDY tackle, harden, block, rock throw, thunder wave, rock blast, magnet rise, magic coat, role play, stealth rock
The nosepass snarls and blackens, falling face-first onto a patch of frozen leaves. The air changes - sharpens, tension mounting to the breaking point as the spiritomb's giggling intensifies to a peak that borderlines insanity.
nosepass dodges absorb nosepass is hit by everything else nosepass faints! and is available for capture.
spiritomb dodges leer spiritomb is hit by v-create, gust spiritomb uses confuse ray on chansey spiritomb uses ominous wind on sigilyph spiritomb uses dark pulse on sigilyph
As soon as Dan recovered from his flaming onslaught, he wheeled around and flung a Virus Ball at the fallen Nosepass. He then turned to the Spiritomb once more, noticing its ever-widening grin. Its giggles grew to ear-piercing volume, and it seemed bigger and stronger than ever before.
"Maybe we should stop being so close to this thing," Dan muttered, backing up and spinning his styler in slow, calming circles. Trying to Pacify this thing before it bit his head off would be top priority.
The paralyzed Krabby quickly mustered up the energy for one more Ally Switch weathering the vicious storm that was meant for his ally. As the dust cleared, however, he looked almost unharmed. He cocked an eyebrow at the Spiritomb, stretching his arms in the "come at me bro!" pose before bumrushing it. Another colorful burst of Bubbles flew from his claws.

Sigilyph, meanwhile, was through playing around. She beat her wings to unleash another Whirlwind, eye narrowed with determination: if Ambrose took another hit like that for her, there probably wouldn't even be any Ambrose left. Her eye once more began swirling in place, hoping to Hypnotize the Spiritomb into a lull.
(OOC: Dan catches a Nosepass, tries to Pacify. Krabby Ally Switches and pops his HP boost to avoid damage, then uses Bubble. Sigilyph uses Gust and Hypnosis)?
9(18) SCOURGE NOSEPASS - STURDY tackle, harden, block, rock throw, thunder wave, rock blast, magnet rise, magic coat, role play, stealth rock
It's a game, all of this is - a game that reaps a huge, ideal reward that all scourge benefit from. The Spiritomb's base trembles, the spirits around it howling and twisting one last time before they all slow down, considerably.
nosepass is caught!
spiritomb dodges dark void spiritomb is hit by pacify, absorb x2, leer, bubble spiritomb uses dark pulse on chansey spiritomb uses rest (psychic type is spdef move) spiritomb regained health!
Ambrose scuttled up to the sleeping Spiritomb, a look of disbelief flashing over his face. It was asleep? And not even paying attention to him? He angrily Leered at the Spiritomb, eventually sighing and releasing a multitude of Bubbles at it. It would have to stop snoozing and fight sometime!
cx_0GrZD <10 speed down
Sigilyph, meanwhile, sighed in relief at finally not being under attack. It once more focused its Miracle Eye on Spritomb, focus firing both a Psywave and a Gust at it. If the group could put it down before it got back up, maybe the fight would be over.
Psywave power
Dan sighed in irritation, tracing out the arcing lightning bolts of Thundurus' sign As he finished a bolt of lightning arced out of his styler, aimed right at the sleeping mass of darkness.
<70 Thunder hits
(OOC: Tailwind ends next turn. Dan uses Thunder, Ambrose uses Leer and Bubble, Sigilyph uses Miracle Eye, Gust, and Psywave)
It's said that ghosts do not dream - instead, they're suspended in some sort of limbo, for how is it that they distinguish between conscious and unconsciousness when they're already dead?
The spiritomb hovers slightly to the right, as if irritated by the outside disturbance.
rest 1/2 leer 1/1 spiritomb is hit by leer, thunder x2, bubble, gust, psywave, absorb, bullet seed grovyle cannot use leer, chansey can't use charm (used twice in this battle already!); krabby can't use leer anymore after this! sweet kiss doesn't take effect because spiritomb is already asleep spiritomb is asleep
The gales settled down, but Ambrose didn't care. He practically scrambled on top of the Spiritomb, impotently flailing his claws and firing off Bubbles in a mad dogpile for dominance. That damn ghost was going down, now!
Sigilyph joined the hyperoffensive fray, beating her wings frantically in a nonstop Gust. She also begun spinning for another Hypnosis, in case the Spritomb awoke before the beatdown was finished.
With nothing else for Dan to do, he continued drawing small circles of his Styler to try and Pacify the ghost. He figured it would be a better use of his time than doing nothing.
It snaps awake, but too late, to no avail. The spiritomb gives a loud shriek before disappearing into its base, which disintegrates and blows away with the wind, leaving nothing behind but the icy chill of the amberwell air.
spiritomb is hit by everything spiritomb faints! rhea's pokemon gain 3*2 = 6 levels dan's pokemon gain 3*2*2 = 12 levels (if they're still at 14? spiritomb's level is +5 theirs)
