This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

The park was a real disaster, wasn't it? A rusted-over see-saw squeaked in the wind. The Golbat haunted the air over her shoulder with leathery flaps, and Electabuzz slunk behind her. The kid's whiskers sparked with anxiety. Regina breathed heavily, her breath misty in the cold spring air, as a dread made her head twitch left and right. Her hair was stuck like a horror movie's heroine to her face as she inched across the forbidden landscape. Mist made it difficult to see what was ahead on the path. The night made all the shadows peer at her wide, glowing eyes.
She wouldn't have come if she hadn't heard of the magical lamppost. It was some industrial relic put up pal park - but rumor had it that if an Electabuzz touched it, it would evolve into something magnificently terrible. She nodded to the Golbat to lift up into the sky and out of the sight -- the sound of its flapping had made her nervous. She walked behind tree to tree, only hearing the sound of her breath, freezing at the crisp crunch of another's footsteps.
It cam out of the gloom, whirring like an alien. Regina cried, clamping her the electabuzz's eye's shut before the ghostly scary face popped out and wagged its tongue. Her pokemon fought on their own accord. Regina threw out a third pokeball, and a houndoom leapt in front of her.
Golbat dodged ice punch. Golbat was hit by confusion. Golbat used screech. Golbat used swift. (sp atk bonus)
Electabuzz dodged scary face. Electabuzz used leer. Electabuzz used shock wave. (sp atk bonus)
Golbat fell from the sky, landing with a thump on the forest floor. Woozily it picked itself up and had another go. It couldn't last much longer though...
Golbat hit by confusion x2. Golbat used confuse ray. Golbat used bite.
A queasy Electabuzz waddled over to Regina and ate an antidote. - 1 antidote
Houndour used howl. Houndour used fire fang again.

the figure seemed to be nothing more than an illusion, as what was left there was nothing but a glowing sign that disappeared into nothing. whoever was commanding the metang apparently wasn't around that area.
That was so creepy! She swore she could have seen a shadow in the mist! Noises in the forest began to terrify her, as did the snarl of the metang. She walked softly under foot grabbing her pokemon close. She didn't know where it went at all but its move reminded her of the squirtle.
Squirtle used dig, popping its head up and not finding anything at all to really hit. Regina pulled it back into her ball. She didn't know what was going on but she wanted to get out of here now.
Hurriedly she shoved two x speeds into electabuzz's and houndoom's mouths.
She also found brobat lying with its face in a puddle and put that in a ball too.

the psychic sign was drawn.
the scourge pokémon disappeared from sight as psychic sign - teleport kicked into effect.
Houndoom was hit by zen headbutt and fainted as it smashed against a tree. Squirtle was hit by zen headbutted and clutched its little head and curled up. The Johnny yipped testily at the metang as it twirled away. Regina hugged them all and cried and went back to Nenia's tunnel to find Nurse Joy.
