The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

J turned to look at zara. he wondered if he ought to accept. the last time he had normal food, it had ended up in semi-disaster for thalia and him. the second time with neo and him had been no different.

he forced himself to nod. if he ended up passing out, he would probably end up dead at the hands of zara.
J nearly doubled over at the sight of the pasta. he wondered if he should eat more.
... he already had attempted, so he might as well eat more. whatever wasn't going to kill him only made him stronger -- yeah fuck who was he even kidding. he ate more of the seafood pasta, as nausea started worming its way up his abdomen and neck.
if zara was aware of other people, she may have noticed J's discomfort -- but she wasn't so she merely continued to eat. the woman stood. "more?" because hahaha who doesn't like eating tons of food right??!?
if zara challenged him to a pkmn (not typing the name w/ accent ok this is one of our threads anyway lawl) battle he was pretty sure he could beat her down without blinking an eye
