hey old fella. 

mile seemed ecstatic to be in the giant tree, tail waving around as he rolled in the leaves. even in winter, the tree of dreams was still in bloom. grayson watched the snivy from the end of a branch, leaning against the giant trunk with a tiny torchic in his hands. "quirk, some day you'll be evolved and able to jump in this tree to the highest branch." 

well, that is if you don't die first.

the torchic simply beamed up at him and cheeped.

for the first time, grayson went to the tree alone. nana wasn't out of her pokeball, nor any other pokemon. he simply climbed up the tree, grabbing at chunks of bark one after another. the tree sometimes seemed endless, the lush green leaves a welcome sight compared to the realness of harsh winter. it seemed like an eternity, as most dreams do, before grayson settled down on one of the topmost branches.

the sun had set through the time when he had been ascending the branches. he watched the blazing red circle against vivid orange and purples of the sky.

suddenly, something dropped on grayson's head. he looked up, reaching for the object while making eye contact from a lilligant who had, apparently, dropped a small stsone onto his head. it's hard to be alone in dreams, he supposed.

grayson sprawled across the grass at the base of the tree. his eyes closed, arms spread across the ground. the wind was gentle, and the air didn't sting his skin with the cold bite of winter. he sighed. the dream world took away everything negative in the world, if only for just a single night.

he drifted off to sleep, even in his dream. his body relaxed, rolling onto his side and curling up. leaves fell from the tree to make a makeshift blanket, providing what only dreams could.

sometimes it sucked having so much time on your hands. grayson kicked his feet, sitting at one of the topmost branches in the tree. on his head balanced a baby cottonee, side leaves fluttering occasionally. nana curled up on grayson's lap, forked tail flicking every now and then. they watched the sun rise and set, the moon high in the sky. they spent what seemed like a week simply watching the sky.

grayson had too much free time in reality. might as well spend some extra time sleeping.

grayson laid on the ground, letting nana pad around on his chest a few times before she settled down to nap. meer and reyja was battling above him, constantly fighting at each other to try and better themselves. grayson just thought that they were both kind of aggressive. his salamence flew about the skies, simply enjoying his wings. grayson smiled.

luke held on tight on lance's back, ryn tucked under his arm. the braviary shot upwards into the tree, spiralling around to avoid branches. he gave a screech of joy, feeling the wind in his feathers. "yeah!" luke shouted, watching as lance slowed down at the top of the tree, coasting along the wind in a circle. "wow, garrett. look at that sunrise."

the little eevee squeaked happily, ears flicking. luke smiled, scratching it behind his ears, before turning back to lance "now, let's try going back down. a steep dive."

the braviary was up for the challenge for sure. all three looked incredibly happy. king is basically looking for ?s

lance ruffled his feathers. "bud, you'll be up for fighting soon. let's just take you flying for now. a couple exercises." the braviary nodded, and let luke climb up onto his back. they shot up into the sky, much slower than a usual braviary. "it's okay, you'll be back to top speed soon." he murmurs soothingly. lance looks a little bummed, but as he levels out in the sky, the air changes his expression. "good. let's just cruise."
