This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Xylon wasn't the most okay guy in the world. He knew that. At twenty-five, he had nothing but a criminal record behind him, and the possible idea of entertaining himself by doing this ranger business.
Deep down though, this scourge business was personal. They had taken something - some pokemon - that were very important to him. They were going to pay. For now though, he had to train Tinkerbell and whatever other Pokemon decided to come his way.
Curiously, Osirus wandered into the warehouse, his Jolitk riding along on his hat. He had come to see pokemon, and wasn't expecting to see another person. However, it wasn't enitrely implausible that someone else be there. Most likely, the other was here to find pokemon just like he was, and maybe they could form a sort of comradery thanks to this. So, without further ado, he stepped forward. "Hey. Are you a trainer?"
Tinkerbell and Mime Jr. were both in full view, one stood on each of his sides. There were certain types that he really didn't want to run into here, dark types, bug types, oh and human types. "No." His answer was shot, very to the point.
"I'm an Eos Ranger." Tinkerbell puffed out his chest in an attempt to intimidate the newcomers, but his attempt just made Xy chuckle. It broke his mood. "Xylon," he pointed to himself, "and the Gothita is Tinkerbell."
At first, he was worried this guy was going to be the type to be an ass and all 'I don't like people go away.', but, thankfully, the No was followed by an introduction, and Xylon, as he was called, seemed capable of laughter; both good signs. "I was close." Osirus stated amiably. "I'm Osirus, and this Joltik" he pointed at the aforementioned pokemon. "Is Napoleon." In response to the Gothita's attempted to look intimidating, the tiny pokemon attempted to keep the meanest look it's fuzzy body could manage.
The Letum Warehouse had seen its fair share of strangers over the past year. The wild pokemon that had originally straggled into the abandoned building for shelter and a a shot at peace were starting to realize that maybe, just maybe, a major city was not the place for them. Some of the smarter ones had already even left.
The koffing and snubbull were not one of those. The snubbull was a bully, and fiercely defiant of anything it didn't understand--which was just about everything--and the koffing was content to bumble behind in his path, occasionally puffing little toxic clouds in amusement as the snubbull bumbled into a box or a column, and between the two of them they had thoroughly staked out a small claim in an empty corner of the kingdom. Intruders were unwelcome.
The snubbull rushed forward self-importantly, bellowing at the two dim human shapes. The koffing bobbed in its wake.
"Nice to meet you, Osirus," he took a moment to look at the Joltik so it knew that Xy was addressing it. "And Napoleon. That's a fitting name."
Tinkerbell on the other hand, didn't stand down. He knew he wasn't scary, but he also knew, that he was more intimidating than a Joltik.
That annoying bark like sound made Xylon twist his attention right to the Pokemon that was making it. "Tickerbell, quick, use calm mind then use psybeam on that Koffing." Attack quick, and attack hard. His attention turned to Osirus. "You and Napoleon know how to battle right?" It might have sounded demeaning, but Xylon had been stuck with people who didn't know shit about battling before. It had nearly got him killed once or twice.
Neither he, or Tinkerbell were going to faint or die in this fight. That Xy was sure of, so he kept Mime Jr. close to his leg. He even placed a hand on it's head to stop it from rushing into battle.
tinkerbell, male, gothita level 18 used calm mind on itself. used psybeam on koffing.
"I like to think so." he grinned. Any other conversation opportunities were spoiled by the Snubbull's barking which drew Osirus' attention just as it drew Xylon. A tiny smirk twitched at the corners of his mouth as he registered the two pokemon. Perfect, just what he was hoping for. He'd just take them down and- The sound of Xylon ordering his pokemon to attack pulled Osirus from his thoughts. Right. He wasn't the only one here. "Of course I know how to battle." he scoffed.
Napoleon was already making his way off his traner and onto the ground where he awaited orders on what to do. "Alright! Guess we get the Snubbull." Osirus stated, turning his attention to Napoleon and the wild pokemon. "Use thunderwave, and follow up with fury cutter! Lets show 'em what you got."
napoleon, male, joltik lvl. 13 used thunder wave and fury cutter on snubbull.
The snubbull fell onto all fours as he ran to duck under thunder wave, fury rising that someone had dared to assault him in his own territory, and ran straight into the second attack of fury cutter. He tumbled head over heels and then popped back up, furious. Snubbull used a very angry charm on the joltik, batting its eyelashes without finesse, and then swung in with a bite.
Koffing hadn't fared quite so well. Hovering about nervously as the snubbull abandoned him for his own personal fight, he had turned to look at the second human with wide, fearful eyes--and promptly been shot out of the air with a well-placed psybeam. With one last pitiful expulsion of smog and a wheezed "k-koffing", the poison type had fallen to the ground, bounced a bit, and rolled to a halt.
Xylon didn't allow himself to feel sorry for the Koffing. It did decide to challenge him, sort of. Tinkerbell jut wasn't the type of Pokemon to be reckoned with.
Tinkerbell puffed up his chest, it was proud. This was one of its first actual battles.
"Do you want any help?" He turned his attention from the rolling Koffing to Osirus. He began to draw the Fairy symbol with his stylist.
When asked if he needed help, Osirus just scoffed at Xylon. Of course he didn't need help he- The lapse of his attention gave the Snubbull enough time to take advantage of Napoleon's lack of experience, and directions from his trainer, and landed the bite with little resistence. "Damn it." he hissed. "Don't distract me!"
The other trainer seemed to make up for his percieved misdeeds, however, when he cast something or other on the Joltik that seemed to pep it up. "Alright." Osirus said to the joltik, turning his attention back to the battle. "Practice makes perfect, lets try that combo again! Thunderwave, then fury cutter!"
napoleon, male, joltik lvl. 13 used thunder wave and fury cutter on snubbull, again.
As the snubbull's eyes lit on his fallen minion, he gave a growl of disgust and charged forward again, eager to sink his jaws into the joltik's furry body. Unfortunately for him, he stumbled right into thunder wave this time, far too enraged to dodged it once more.

"Perfect!" he grinned, when both the thunderwave, and the fury cutter landed on the Snubbull. The other trainer continued to support him, despite the fact that he said he could handle it. Oh well. It's not like he himself would've just stood by for the duration of the battle. "Now, use screech, and hit it with another fury cutter!"
napoleon, male, joltik lvl. 13 used screech and fury cutter on snubbull. 2tsunz
The snubbull raged with impotent fury against the paralysis, electricity crackling over his body. With sheer force of will, he yanked himself out of the way of screech.
