This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Mefitis Underground lacked most of the amenities that Decima proper had once offered, but Thalia was always going to choose a place she could breathe in over the the place full of toxic air. Besides, it had the most important feature: a bar.
The bartender stopped in front of them, a worried looking woman with thick black hair pulled into a ponytail. Thalia hadn't even needed to flag her down; they were the only customers in the bar.
Decima was apparently not a very popular destination spot. Again, probably the toxic air.
"I want a whiskey sour. And two shots of vodka." She looked over at J. "What do you want?"
the underground bar was something of a frequent haunt for J whenever he was in the area. he was probably also the only person who visited decima with alarming frequency.
the bartender disappeared into the back.
"that had been surprisingly quick. then again, the same thing happened to that camerupt person."
A bottle of vodka. Thalia wasn't sure which was scarier: the idea of J drunk on a bottle of vodka, or the idea that a bottle wasn't enough.
"When'd you fight the camerupt?"
The bartender reappeared with their drinks. Er, Thalia's drinks. She deposited J's bottled in front of him.
Thalia downed the first vodka shot and pushed the other to the side, settling in to sip her whiskey sour.
"Maybe we're getting better. Could be a good sign, I guess. Or maybe she was having an off day. She was by herself, as well. It's not always that lucky. But cheers to winning this one, at least."
"before decima, with mordecai," said J. he cracked open the bottle of vodka and poured it into his iced glass. "i landed some critical hits."
he was also very desperate not to lose back then, because the camerupt was very much able to wreck his entire team. (now, he wasn't sure if anything had changed.)
"cheers." J raised his glass. "remember the first scourge fight we had?"
She shrugged. "I think it's good. I mean look at how this battle went. We're not floundering in the dark anymore, we know for the most part what we're up against. And we've started winning more than we used to."
"I'm sure there are those that would disagree, though."
between the two of them, finishing a bottle was an easy task. they were soon on a second bottle, and J had started on his habit of bitter powder at the same time.
