This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

J curled his hand around the bottle of soda pop that he had brought to the tower of janus. he sipped at the bottle, letting the cool liquid streak down his throat. it was surprisingly warm in the tower of janus. for some reason, the area hadn't been struck by winter, and it was rather warm as J walked around in his parka.
he didn't take it off, though. his silver eevee trotted about by his side, glancing about for any sign of a person.
Although it looked to the untrained eye as if Bosch must be sweltering under his armor, he didn't give any indication of it. He wasn't going to take it off any sooner than J would remove his parka.
And despite the massive amounts of metal he was wearing, Bosch stepped out of the shadows behind J remarkably silently.
"yeah," said J. it hadn't occurred to him that the speaker was none other than the man he was supposed to find.
his eevee, however, gave a little squeak of surprise and darted behind J's feet at the sight of the armored man. bosch easily towered over J at full height, and J was already a rather tall person.
J finally turned around, and realized that he was talking to a man in armor.
Bosch looked down at J. Well, his metal face-plate looked down at J. The faint, intelligent gleam of his eyes was barely visible behind it. He didn't comment on J's height, which was well above average to anyone else, anymore than he had commented on Thalia's lack of height.
"why did it become like this?" J asked. it wasn't supposed to look like that on the guides he had skimmed at a news stand. "it looked rocky in the pamphlets."
"An odd question," Bosch said, "When the stories said you were yourself were involved. A young man with dark hair and his companion traveled to the top of the tower and poked around in long-forgotten history until the world changed, in a place, to as it was long ago."
