it was raining.

it was raining, but masami didn't really care because she had sunglasses on. even her little togepi had sunglasses on, because why not. even though the rain wasn't really rain but more like sleet and hail, it was that cold.

masami sat inside a warm cafe, drinking a cup of coffee and reading out of a book. her table was obviously open for any to sit at, although she wasn't sure if anyone would want to sit with the eccentric woman with an egg pokemon munching on a lollipop in her arms.

...nette doesn't even know what she's doing anymore.

iker curses his luck when it starts to sleet and hail in the middle of fucking march, but he doesn't complain that much when he realizes that in the midst of all this, he learned the ice ranger sign. go iker.

he's still freezing when he takes cover in a cafe. the manectric didn't appreciate being pelted by ice, but the shelgon is practically dying because dragon typing. he crawls over to the cafe fireplace. iker doesn't stop him.

the ranger puts in an order for some hot chocolate at the counter. he doesn't really need a seat when he's permanently seated in a wheelchair, but he'd also prefer not to be standing awkwardly in the middle of a cafe.

he wheels over to masami. "d'you mind?"

masami holds down a finger to save her page, tilts her sunglasses up away from her eyes with the other hand, and smiles. "of course not! you're welcome to take a, well, not seat, but space." she manages to juggle things so that her coffee is scooted towards her, letting the newcomer and his manectric - and is the shelgon huddling by the fire with him? - have some space on the circular table, and her sunglasses are still stuck at the top of her head when she finishes.

synphonie waves her hands from where she was curled in her breeder's arms, pulling out the candy from her mouth to speak to the manectric. < hello there! not one for icy weather? >

iker draws the normal sign - helping hand to move one of the chairs out of the way. by the time that he's settled at the table, the server is already coming by with his hot chocolate. good timing too, since iker's fingers already feel like they're going to shrivel up from the cold.

"thanks." he doesn't really question masami's choice of eyewear. he's seen plenty of strange fashion choices during his time in proserpina city. the big city folk were kind of eccentric, he figured. iker warms his hands around the cup before taking a drink.

the manectric looks to the baby pokemon and contains his urge to shiver. <who would be?> a dewgong, maybe.
