Anna grew up in a very mixed family; her mother, father, step mother, step father, all have been married more than once, with children from each marriage. Anna is the oldest of all of the children- the final tally of siblings comes to eight, and she loves each and every one with her whole heart.
She was raised in Hespera, mostly by her mother and step-father, who were both hardworking but very poor. Despite this, she considers her childhood to have been full and happy, and she enjoyed most all of her time spent with her mother, step-father, five siblings and the family Pokemon (Purugly and Granbull) all under one (small) roof.
Anna's benevolence and compassion developed early, and did not go unnoticed by anyone; however, she never seemed to have much motivation. She cared deeply about those around her, but wasn't sure how to put herself to good use.

When the Scourge hit, devastating though it was, Anna finally found her purpose. She and her family cared for the refugees from the overridden towns. When the panic and mayhem had mostly subsided, her step-father suggested that she apply for Eos.
Anna was hesitant- did she really want to leave everything that she had ever known? She pushed the thought aside at first, but the spark of that idea quickly caught and turned into a wildfire. She was scared, yes- terrified, in fact- but she suddenly knew what the next step was for her.
