there was a reclining chair in the centre of the hall, between the two staircases. alex sat there, legs crossed, a book raised in front of his face. sonata lurked in his shadow as always, only his ears poking out of the ground. alex licked his thumb and flipped the page, looking bored at the read. the land of nightmares didn't always have exciting books.
ismael froze mid-step upon seeing who was in the middle of the velvet hall. for many days he had dreamt but met no one who stood in his way -- he wasn't so scared of those darkened pokémon now that he had fennekin, whom he adored.
he was, however, scared of the figure seated in the middle of the room.
'don't listen to him, ismael,' it was like a siren's call, alluring, but dangerous. ismael heard nothing but that voice, though.
"brother," he croaked, voice hoarse, before he collapsed to the ground, hugging his knees to his chest.
