This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

The Arbok simply shook his head as he slithered along. They had gotten yesterday: a potential foe instead turned out to be a friend, or at least an asset. It was a shame he didn't get to sink his fangs into some Scourge scum, but at least he and Dan made it through without trouble.
Ambrose seemed much bolder today, at least. He confidently sauntered by Dan's side, as if asking who was afraid of cruddy ol' Bacchus town. He certainly wasn't. Not anymore, at least. Shut up about yesterday, narrator, you can't prove crap!
Today was recon day. Raid the Bacchus Gym for supplies before starting inroads into Lake Pax. Just quickly in, quickly out, and then the group would make inroads into dangerous territory.
Jake tensed up. He began looking around, letting out a hiss of warning to Dan and Ambrose. Stay back. I don't think we're alone.
He took the lead, slowly circling the perimiter of the gym. Of course, as he made his rounds he always made sure to keep two rules: never walk into the darkness alone, and never make a sound. As soon as you did, they'd know you were here . . .
all the carefullness in the world does not help a pokemon who theia is on the hunt for. with a vicious hiss the togekiss leaps into the air from tamara's shoulder and takes aim at them.

...a misdreavus came along misdreavus used confuse ray at krabby misdreavus used ominous wind at krabby
Jake let out a hiss of alarm as a Togekiss burst from nowhere, letting lose a burst of fire. Ambrose nodded, clacking his claws together and vanishing in a flash of light. Fire didn't phase him much, after all, so the Ally Switch was nothing but a gain!
Of course, he wasn't expecting it to hurt so damn much. Steam rose off of the crab's shoulder as he grimaced, smarting quite a bit from the hit. This Togekiss must've been a strong one. Nevertheless, he was going down. He sped forward, a furious Bubblebeam shooting from one claw and the other shining brightly. With a warrior's shout he swiped forward for a brutal Metal Claw right to the Togekiss' gut.
He didn't even notice the bird's glowing. Such a foolish mistake . . .
Jake shook his head, trying to resist the Confuse Ray pulsing into his brain. Of course, the distraction left him wide open for the Ominous Wind. He shrieked angrily as the gales cut across his skin, lunging forward for a Crunch to try and teach the Misdreavus a thing or two.
<20, Misdreavus' defense down.
Dan's backpack shook a little, Rollins tentatively poking his head out. Hoping nobody would notice him, he launched a Bubblebeam at Misdreavus and an Ice Beam at Togekiss. He then ducked back into Dan's backpack, knowing he wouldn't stand a chance in direct combat.
<10, Misdreavus' speed down.
Dan, on the other hand, was busy etching out the Dark Sign with his styler. A murky cloud surrounded his body, the man launching it out at Togekiss like some sort of Smokescreen.
OOC: Ambrose uses Ally Switch, Bubblebeam, and Metal Claw. Jake Dodges the Confuse Ray and uses Crunch. Rollins uses Ice Beam and Bubblebeam. Dan uses the Dark sign.
