This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

The Houndour had warned his trainer just in time and rightly so! The small shadow had crept up and now it was upon them! The sound of liquids churning would be rather noisy! From the dark pit a figure slithered into the dim view. It's purple color came into the moonlight and its green cheeks became visible. It was a...
Its hallow beady eyes watched the Houndour. The line of its motuh wiggled with each little quake of its movements. The soft tissue of its body was like a rubber deathtrap! Such a terror of the night would be unstoppable!!! However, it appears to be just standing there. Lucky for the trainer and Houndour, they have the first move!

minjae groaned. "buddy, you do this every morning. there's nothing in the shadows, i promise. come back to bed." the houndour snarled, embers flicking from his mouth. it always did this, every morning. minjae pushed his face back into his pillow, groaning.
something shifted in the woods.
minjae was alert almost immediately, but not quick enough. an ursaring lumbered out with a vicious roar, eyes blackened in a very familiar way. "run!" minjae screamed at his houndour, fumbling to get out of his sleeping bag.
the houndour made it only a few yards before he heard the shriek from his owner, pausing and turning around. the ursaring was viciously slashing at minjae, pulling chunks away to be easier to eat. it paused.
loyalty. that was what the houndour was taught and raised with.
with a howl, the houndour charged back. it joined its owner in the afterlife, while the ursaring enjoyed his breakfast.
Honestly, Bobby hadn’t timed this right. Usually there were enough wild Pokemon to be found here, but at this present moment in time? No. Not a chance. Everyone was either asleep or pretending to be asleep for today was that day.
The day when the Venomoth and his little Venonat brothers visited. You see, when they visited they owned this place – and if you disagreed you could easily wind up asleep, paralysed or poisoned. It was quite annoying really, and the wild Pokemon just found it easier to stay quiet and feign sleep when they came around. The less you engaged them the sooner they left.
Unfortunately, a certain trainer and his Pokemon had been hanging around too long. Far too long. One of the Venonat had finally reported this intrusion to big bro Venomoth (as if the Venonat would take on a bird Pokemon by itself) and the pair had now found the tresspassers.
The Poison Moth Pokemon wasted no time. A funny powder rained down.
