His affluence as a child had always provided him with the motivation to go out one day and become an expert, too; he used to dream of the day he'd receive a pokedex from the professor and go off on his journey. When he was eighteen his parents left for Johto to rekindle their love for each other, and they haven't returned since. He'd been hoping to receive his first pokemon when they came back, but with the arrival of the scourge such an opportunity never arose; he had to protect himself, after all. Being in Sol City, the effects of the hades virus haven't really affected the town all that much, although it's certainly a lot less chill than it was before as its populace grit their teeth with pensive expressions - of course they want to help! It's the Sol City way!
