This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

The warehouse has become his sanctuary, getting him through the impossible brightness of daylight, through the paranoia that comes with nightfall. Adrian retraces his steps again and again, restlessly pacing the now-familiar warehouse floors.
A soft, weary grumble causes him to slow to a stop. Mamooshka is accompanying him today, and the Swinub appears exhausted. The dust and grit of the warehouse floor have made their way into her thick fur, irritating her skin. Swinub were meant for the ice and snow, not manmade buildings, and it shows. She looks like a particularly bedraggled dust mop.
Lifting her from the ground, Adrian brushes the worst of the dirt from her fur. For once, he's not eager to be alone, so he continues on, holding his Pokemon in his arms.
The Elgyem moaned a little, disturbed from its slumber with the inconsiderate, irritating trespassing of some human that didn't understand the meaning of peace and quiet. Its eyes glowed with life, appearing to activate the pokemon like some sort of automaton. At any rate, it moved into clear sight of the human. It wasn't going to stand for this! The cerebral pokemon used growl, at least giving the trainer a chance to turn back now and be done with all the trouble.
The sound of a low growl alerted Adrian to the presence fo a Pokemon. Not one to wait for a more direct attack, he lowered Mamooshka to the ground, letting the little ice type scuttle forwards. The Pokemon launched herself at the foe who'd growled at her trainer, racing towards it as fast as she could manage on her stubby feet.
The Elgyem sighed as best it could; it wasn't particularly up for a battle right now, all it wanted to do was sleep! Alas, a Swinub scuttled towards the cerebral pokemon, intent on using a tackle attack. The Elgyem had found itself in a battle. How unfortunate. Still, there was nothing else for it other than to try and get it over with. As the Swinub slammed into the extraterrestrial pokemon, it put its arms out to hold it in place. Regardless of whether or not it was successful in trapping the ice pig pokemon, the Elgyem used confusion as an attempt to knock the Swinub back.
Snagged by the unusual psychic type's arms, Mamooshka squeaked, wriggling in his grasp. The usually silent pokemon let out small sounds of exertion. By the time she managed to get free, however, she'd been struck by a confusion attack. Startled, the swinub stumbled. Her fur mussed and dusty, she sniffed the air, using scent rather than sight to try to find her target. Dogged perseverance pushed her to blow an icy powder snow at her foe, ignoring the uncomfortable aftershocks of the blow she'd taken.

The Elgyem shivered from the powder snow, which only served to further enrage it. The cerebral pokemon had a sinking feeling that it wasn't going to go to sleep any time soon, however. Panting a little, it used confusion again, though.

wild elgyem!
LV10 - confusion | growl | heal block
The Elygem shivered, a weakened genius, the tackle wrecking havoc to its cambium. It was a smart pokemon. It knew when its body had reached its limits. Fainting into darkness, it surrendered to its foe.
note: post one last time with a thrown pokeball if you want it!
