His hands felt through the rough bark one at a time, checking high and low on one side before moving to the next. At times, he would press his ear on the tree and stare up at the sight of its staggering height. He was so absorbed in his sudden interest to study the tree that Erinyes, his Skarmory, stayed completely silent for the past three minutes.
Joshua stepped back and appeared to have come up with a conclusion at last. Erinyes attentively waited in suspense. What had his human partner realized to have warranted such a peculiar behavior? She felt that the tree was special as well but Erinyes was not versed in scientific or spiritual matters. She was a fighter, not an investigator.
Joshua turned to her, solemn.
"Erinyes, this...is the biggest Sudowoodo I have ever seen."
"...skar?"

It is indeed the biggest sudowoodo he's ever seen. So big that it's probably not a sudowoodo, if you think about it. Why don't you take a closer look?
