The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Neo shivered. Phoebe shivered too, but she seemed to be doing better than Neo was in the winter, probably because the reuniclus didn't have to tromp through two feet of snow. There were benefits to being a floating embyonic impossible lifeforce.
She wasn't really here as part of a liberation effort, although she'd have liked to help Nenia any way she could. Neo's only intention was to cut through scourge lands to get to the Bulwark. She could've taken the long way around, catch a boat in Juno over to sunny Sol City, but she'd thought this way was simpler.
One of the many benefits of having a walking, zombified volcano as your closest friend was the heat. Unlike Neo, Cameron didn't have much of a problem navigating the snow and slush of Pal Park.
Neither of them really knew why they were there -- it weren't as if she could be having a barbecue in the area anytime soon, with this weather -- but they were, and when they saw a floating pokemon a ways off ... well, it was almost routine at this point.
