This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

Thalia sat on an enormous rusted steel beam in what remained of the Lua Gardens. This place had fallen long before the scourge, when she was still very young, too young to have visited more than a handful of times. In the past, it had been a gleaming silver paradise of light and excitement. She could still see the bones of that vision scattered about her, but faintly, as if through a dark glass.
Ninetales lay with her head in Thalia's lap, eyes half-slitted and ears pressed back, listening to the hum of the dead gardens while her trainer walked in memory.
Eifa was on the hunt, right now, taking out regular pokemon just wasn't doing it for her. She needed to take down a trainer, she didn't to succeed in destroying someone from eos. She needed to become one step closer to her world order that she needed to wash away her sins in this world. This place reminded her far too much of her sins. A place that was so alive, bustling and busy, was dead. A pink haired girl with a ninetails, perfect. Azar walked behind her, keeping himself out of sight under her long dress. "Well, aren't you a cutie. You know it's dangerous to hang out here, right? Are you from around here?" She didn't allow herself to take in the view, this wasn't her home - it couldn't be her home, it was far too dead. It was a ghost of what Bacchus once was. "I was born and raised here. I can't seem to bring myself to leave, you know?"
She'd attack in due time, or maybe the girl would figure out her intentions by the way Eifa looked at her, like a predator staring at pray.
"I'm from Bacchus," Thalia said. "Although I left a long time ago. I enjoy walking among the Gardens still. I find it comforting."
She paused.
"So I suppose I can't leave either. I don't want to stay here any longer, but I feel chained here. By guilt, I suppose. I wasn't here when the scourge broke out. I regret that. The least I could do now is return."
"I can't find comfort in the gardens any longer, they're far too dead, far too rusted." A shell of its former self, like everything else the scourge - everything she - touched. "Guilt, I can understand that. My sins keep me chained to this town." There was no need to engage in her paranoia with a total stranger, that she was the reason Bacchus was attacked. Her connection with Azar - who she met that day - was the reason.
"I've hardly left this place since the outbreak." She sat down, a decent amount away from the trainer, Azar peeked from under her dress. Eifa was too caught up in her thoughts to attack, or maybe she was just lonely. Being an agent wasn't really the way to make friends.
Azar - feeling as though they were no longer hunting - jumped upon his agent's lap, nuzzling into her stomach. "Ah yes, the scourge embraced me, that's my sin."
"What are you going to do now cutiepie? Do you want to fight me?" She scratched the larvesta's head. She smiled at the pinkette, that predatory gaze never leaving her eyes.
"These gardens fell long before the scourge," Thalia said. "The scourge live in them now, but they are not of them. And one day, scourge will live in them no more."
Thalia looked at the larvesta. The ninetales beat her tails against the ground with an air of distinct disapproval, but otherwise didn't move: her trainer hadn't commanded her to do so.
"You're not the first person I've met like that. Are you all working together?"
"There was a certain life to it before the attack." Her hand once again went through the fur like fluffy that surrounded Azar's head. "Maybe its just that you can feel the atmosphere now, it screams defeat."
"Forgive me, I didn't mean to get philosophical with you, cutiepie." From look on the girl's face she wasn't exactly surprised. Eifa didn't feel a need to answer her questions, but rather a want. "Just like you eos employees, we too work together. We're of course not bound together by the ideas of protecting and serving the land. We just have a common goal, cutiepie." She placed air quotes around protecting and serving. "Maybe I've talked a bit too much, why don't you and I just party."
She breathed in a sigh. She placed Azar on the ground and stepped back. `
Azar shook his head, every time he did that she was reminded of a male pyroar. It was cute.
Azar was dodged by confuse ray. Azar was hit by extrasensory.
Azar used take down. Azar used signal beam. WxrkeWJM < 10, confusion Azar used string shot. Azar used string shot, again. Eifa drew the poison sign - toxic.
