It was dysfunctional, but serviceable. He was born as a product of one of his mother's many one night stands, only being kept out of obligation. Even with a single parent, Kaz found that his childhood wasn't morbid or cheated. Rather, he got most of the things he wanted due to his mother's many "boyfriends." His mother explained to him that her job was to show the tourists the "local culture," an explanation he didn't understand until he was much older. When his mother continued to age, money was harder, for obvious reasons that remained unspoken of. He was forced to pick up a job at the age of fifteen, working at a small vineyard just outside of town. One day when he was at work, the Scourge hit and tore the town apart. Certain that his mother had made it out, Kaz didn't bother to go look for her, but made his way to Nerio instead. As it turns out, he had been right, and was reunited with his mother in the only city that was more immoral than Bacchus. Rather than setting up there, the duo made their way to Proserpina in the hopes of starting over in an area that was more secure. The two began working in a restaurant, but the pay still wasn't enough for the both of them to make a living. Kaz made his way to Juno to sign up for the Eos program to make things easier for his mother, whom he wanted to live a purer life.
