If anyone was looking to write a thesis on how Thalia's dedication to higher causes/ideals and belief in the innate goodness of humanity (as well as her innate responsibility to protect it) was all a mask for a psychotic death wish, they'd have all the material needed for a fifty page paper right in the current scene.
Setting: Lemures Circle, the heart of scourge dominion.
Characters: 1) Thalia de Luca, a nineteen year old EOS trainer. Veteran of one year. Her hair was a veteran of a decades long battle against unnaturally colored hair dye. 2) Togepi, the godking, an allegedly "baby" pokemon who was walking in front of her. He scanned the horizon with the unconcerned grace of true power.
it had been a long time since a fury had taken matters into their own hands. yet this event merited such a rare event, for today was not a normal day - today a trainer not of their own had entered lemures, with a pokemon. a clearly vaccinated pokemon.
eos had found them, and it was only polite to welcome your guests. he had declined help from the other furies, intent on dealing with this himself.
the ground rumbled with his passage, his minions and subordinates flanking him as they drew near where the intruders were. it fairly writhed, even with only a minimum amount of power used, and their entrance was heralded by the sounds the earth made.
fury calo stared down the small human and her togepi with the dark eyes of scourge and the casual air of someone who had the upper hand. four onixes moved to surround them all, rock skin darkened with the virus and tails curling in anticipation.

Thalia shivered. The steelix and his accompanying minions didn't scare her. She'd come here with the intent of killing one of the furies. It would be useless to be scared at this point.
The fact that she could still understand his words, though, even after Neo's alleged cure; that scared her. She remembered slipping into scourgetongue to speak to the metagross in Bacchus, not even realizing she had done so. She wondered how much longer she could walk such a narrow tightrope without slipping.
"I hope you enjoy my time here as well," Thalia said to the steelix. "I suspect you won't."
Togepi had none of his trainer's fears. He laughed and stepped for battle. He would rid the region of these pretenders--and then assume his own reign.
