This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

For somebody asking all the questions, "Odin" seemed a bit wary of answering them himself. Dan decided to keep on his guard, considering this was getting fishier by the second.
"Are we getting close to the city limits, Jake?" The Arbok simply shook his head: there was still so much of Bacchus left to cover.

"I'm sure you'll be able to return there someday!"
Was Dan a bit nostalgic for Humilau? He wasn't really too sure. Sol City was everything Humilau was and more, right down to the warm, humid climate. Maybe he'd go back someday, if only for nostalgia, but for now Kohaku was home.

alex sighed. "perhaps." then he directed his attention to the spear in dan's hand. "that looks pretty nifty." the word on his lips almost made him cringe, nifty? it was clearly an anvil weapon. that word did not do enough for the spear. "what's it from?"
"Picked it up at Di Manes. It's better than the last one I got there, at least."
He shuddered, remembering the tiny breadknife that the Anvil had first given him. That thing probably couldn't have even fought off a Scourge Joltik, let alone any of the beasts roaming around Bacchus.
"Haven't had a chance to use it yet. Honestly hoping I never need to."

alex looked as interested as a child on christmas day, masking himself quite well. "i attended kohaku university, perhaps i could give it a try and help? we could find out now, while we're still somewhere barren. i'd hate for it to cause collateral damage."
"Offer appreciated, but no thanks. I'd really rather hold onto it myself, especially while we're still deep in Scourge territory."
Jake turned to Alex, narrowing his eyes suspiciously before turning again once more. He was getting more and more suspicious with each word coming out of his mouth . . .

alex nodded in agreement. "agreeable." he inspected it from afar, deducing things about the weapon by himself.
the metal looked pristine, sharp to touch and hard as diamonds. alex used his knowledge of anvil weapons to deduce it must have been of steel type attribution. it looked powerful. his eyes gleamed behind his mask.
"well then, how much farther, arbok?" alex glanced to the snake.
"With how big of a town Bacchus is, he says it'll take a bit longer before we're finally out."
The guy was still looking at his weapon, wasn't he? At this point it was just starting to weird Dan out. Still, better to have safety in numbers than risk a Scourge ambush: one shady character couldn't be as bad as a bunch of opportunistic monsters, right?
