For those of you that are new (welcome!), I fiddle with Kohaku's systems a lot to try for better balance or just more fun.
Below are a bunch of changes that go live now, and I'll be trying to update the infodexes with the info over the next couple of days.
BREEDER PROGRESSION The new progression in this thread goes live.
BREEDER MONEY Very, very, very tentatively, I'm going to try paying breeders based on how many of their eggs sell from the Egg Shop. When it's time for the February check-in (it's a laid back activity check), breeders should check the Egg Shop thread and report how many of their eggs were sold. They receive 50% of their egg sales. If this turns out to be too high, then we'll either scrap this system or lower their cut of the sales.
STAT BOOSTS You know what stat boosts are good? HP, ACC, either ATK/SPATK if you're a sweeper, and potentially EVA. You know what stat boosts aren't good? DEF and SPDEF. ...And SPD was just HP's shitty younger brother.
DEF - A pokemon with the DEF stat boost may overcome all status ailments and becomes immune to status ailments until next turn.
SPDEF - A pokemon with the SPDEF stat boost may overcome all status debuffs and becomes immune to status debuffs until next turn.
SPD - A pokemon with the SPD stat boost may use a defensive attack as a THIRD attack option.
Basically, Def is used to get rid of status ailments, Spdef to get rid of debuffs. Speed now takes over the function of both the old Def and Spdef boosts.
Everyone should feel free to readjust their stat boosts if you want.
NOTE ON LOCATION PROGRESSION I briefly edited the rulesdex so that progression was one completed thread OR a thread with 10 posts. I undid that change, because tuyet was right. The old rule of a 10-post long thread OR 15 scattered posts was better, and it is thus restored. Sorry for the confusion.
SHINY KALOS QUICKSPRITES Thanks to tuyet, all Kalos pokemon now have shiny sprites. Shiny megas are in progress. Let staff know if there's any typos or other errors in the new quicksprites.
FLINCH Flinch works like paralysis that only lasts one turn. You lose half your actions. (Scourge pokemon DO get to roll at the start of their turn to try to shrug off the effects of flinch!)
DO DEBUFFS STACK? No.

Batin and Iskander managed to summon Yveltal. Brace yourselves. I may turn this into a site-wide event if the thread provides an opening for it.
Decima invasion (a flashback event to during the timeskip) is happening soon. It is not staff-run, so beats me when toska and 2tsunz are going to get off their asses to start it up.
There's a scourge invasion planned for one of the earlier locations (either Ceres or Di Manes) that'll probably start this week. It's waiting for characters to progress out of Proserpina though. Just letting you all know ahead of time.
Well, throw up some thread so that Neo can actually defend her hometown. Alia too, probably. I thought toska was planning it out to be in a pseudo-tournament format though?
also, in regards to shiny sprites: yes, we are aware there are newer, prettier sprites. no, those are not a priority until everything (re: megas) have shiny sprites too.
... and xerneas, yveltal, and zygarde haven't been finished yet either. not like y'all gonna need those anytime soon anyway.
