The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

The kitchen was gleaming and spotless and looked like the first time it had been used in years was when Thalia and J ordered their huntail. Maybe that was true.
Thalia stumbled towards the counter.
"Gonna make the best huntail," she mumbled to herself.

well the huntail was water and ghost all at once, and thalia had a staff that created electricity with each swish of the staff. J watched her awkwardly wave the staff about single-handedly, and it struck the huntail much later than her blastoise's bite did.
