A bit unnecessarily, Mr. Krauss gestured to the conga line of pokemon and said, <These are the vaccinated pokemon we have available. You should choose one as a starter.>

EOS? what the-- luke put up his hands to argue before he was directed to a line of pokemon. he randomly lifted one from the line, the little blue and white ralts, into his arms before turning to the alakazam. "i think there's been a mistake. i was just trying to apply for some money. what the hell is eos?"

Well. From a certain point of view, there's money in Eos.

<Eos... you don't know? Son, have you been paying attention to the news lately? There's rabid, homicidal pokemon running amok. Eos trainers are dedicated to wiping out that threat.>

The ralts didn't seem to mind being removed from the conga line.

<Now, our funding is limited, but our trainers seem to do be doing quite well for themselves.> Mr. Krauss squinted at Luke, sizing up his money-making potential. <Eos gives you a little living stipend, but it's just for travel and pokemon center fees. It's nothing like a loan, but if you've been accepted, you've got talent. There might be fame and fortune in pokemon training for you.>
