This world is inhabited by creatures that we call pokemon. People and pokemon live together by supporting each other, but now the scourge threatens the safety of the entire region. Kohaku has become a dangerous place, where children stay at home and only brave souls go adventuring.
Welcome to KOHAKU. Come for the nightmares. Stay for the tea and crumpets.
The season is SUMMER. It is easy for survivors to forage for food from the land, as there are entire abandoned farms ready for harvest. On the downside, you can smell the corpses.

well technically nette on kohaku we roll for poker so it's completely random. but by that logic elias isn't even choosing to play poker, there's just some....overwhelming force named caed that makes him do stuff.
"find anything yet?" she calls out from where she is, looking up at the trainer while carefully glancing around at the room from her peripheral. the fact that there had been a hazard sign on this door is still crawling shivers up her spine, and she finds herself looking back at the trainer in the room with her once more.
"yeah." he mumbles and gingerly holds it up for her to see.
lk3qD2WV 1-20 evolution stone, 21-50 gold nugget, 51-70 fossil, 71-89 pokeball with something inside, 90-95 a formula for eos cure, 96-100 a legendary summon item nette
looking for a swablu/altaria, if you have one PM me!
"it's a fossil." he states plainly, inspecting it. "i don't know why it's here though." his body slips around the desk as he looks around for a sign of some sort-- elias has no idea why the fossil was located in this room, in a desk.
1mtnPGWG <50 he figures out it's some sort of 'fossil research room'
and now it comes to him. the hazard sign on the door, the machines, the desks...it's a research room. he never knew pax researched fossils. "it's a research room." elias glances at ahuda. "for fossils, probably." nette

"it's a root fossil, if i remember correctly." she probably does - pokemon are her thing, after all. "they evolves into lileeps."
the fact that pax researched fossils, though, is news for her. "that's... probably it. i wonder why, though. we already know a lot about them - proserpina gym and hespera have plenty of info on them if anyone wanted to know more." she walks a ways away and starts looking through cabinet drawers and papers. "unless they wanted to step on those research branches' toes by mucking about in their field of choice."
step on other facilities' toes? it didn't exactly sound like something people would do these days-- the more researchers the better. but back in the day, before the scourge hit...it made sense that there were rivalries. heck, his own father tried to take down cypress labs once and came hauntingly close, although it was unbeknowst to the public. elias looked at ahuda.
ahuda shrugs. she'd grown up in ceres, sectioned away from the world until age sixteen, so she'd never really known. "i don't know. they might have been, though."
hVHzmG1P <50 pax wanted to take over the world was that corrupt and power-hungry <30 documents stating that fact?
"i can't find any evidence of that theory, but it'd be foolish to write it down, i suppose. although that makes our work harder." she abandons her current desk and moves onto another one.
"if the virus spread from pax..." elias trailed off, walking towards another desk. he shrugged and held out the fossil, his thoughts gone cold. "you want this?"
regardless of her answer, he placed the fossil carefully on a desk and opened another drawer. empty. another one.
J_Oj6jch <30 documents written to proserpina gym/hespera museum proving they were corrupt <10 digital documents, stored in a laptop thingy in the drawer nette

she doesn't look, instead letting her partner take the offered fossil from off the desk and place it carefully into her bag. "thanks. i'll probably end up giving it to a researcher or something, but i'll take it if you don't want it."
the desk is another dead end. she moves onto another bay of furniture. "find anything yet?"
"i don't really need it." he says, starting towards another desk. "lileep's not really..my type." and he opens another drawer. it's empty. elias is almost getting bored of this now...everything has basically been cleared out of pax already. it's surprising though-- this room required a key and yet there was nothing in it. he turned to ahuda.
