she takes out the folder with shaking hands. the title says enough about its contents. "...yeah." she takes it over to a lamp and digs out her own flash light from a pocket. clicking it on, she turns over a few pages, and nearly drops her light source.
there is evidence here, printed clearly against the aging paper. a lot of it, although pax wasn't idiotic enough to outright say it. it's morbidly heartening to know the researchers here weren't that stupid.
"what? you found something?" elias asks, rushing over to her. he doesn't try to grab at the file, only looks on over ahuda's shoulder as he reads the document.

"..." for a moment, ahuda is speechless. then she's snapping the folder closed and glaring at elias. "this is not 'nothing useful,' as you called it. this is raw evidence that pax was corrupt. it has details, procedures - the only thing missing is photographic evidence and any results they found, but i doubt they're not in here somewhere. i'm still wondering why they decided to label it so boldly, though."
then it occurs to her. "...shit. we haven't seen a single scourge in this place yet."
wait. so it is something useful. okay. elias scampers back to ahuda's sign, reading it all over again. he catches on a little better this time, but he still doesn't quite grab why this is so important. so what if pax were jerks. it didn't really matter now, because to the business world, pax institute didn't even exist. he looked at ahuda.
"what do we do with that?" elias asked, running a hand through his hair. "why is important? who do we give it to?" but his questions are cut short by the mention of scourge. he scans the room.
"we haven't...but this is a locked part of the facility." nette

ahuda doesn't know how to respond to that. she grips her styler tightly instead, and glares at the scourge fury. for the love of arceus, it's a haxorus. a dragon type. just their fucking luck today, isn't it?
madonna slides into place as forretress quickly drifts outside to fetch ares. she's sure that they'll all be needed. "steal from you? is pax institute your personal stomping grounds now?"
"oh little girl," it snarls, "you're oh so cute, but i don't have the time for questions." he looks at her, sympathetic.
"oh fine, if i must," raz gives a large sigh, preparing itself for battle, "pax is my stomping ground, and so is your precious organization known as EOS." it gives her an intimidating stare. "don't you know that such a disorganized rag-tag group can't accomplish anything?"

forretress returns, and although an ahuda with only a mienshao by her side isn't that impressive, one with a mienshao, a forretress, and a charizard is. she raises an eyebrow at him. "disorganized? i wouldn't say that. and don't call me a little girl."
